Practical information

Frequently asked
questions.

Everything you may want to know before your first appointment at Centre Novae.

What happens at the very first appointment? Am I committing to long-term therapy?

+

The first appointment is a conversation, called an intake interview (anamnesis): the practitioner simply asks about what you are going through now, your background, your health and your daily life, in order to understand your situation. There is nothing to prepare, no test and no judgement. At the end of this first session, the practitioner suggests possible next steps and you decide freely: sometimes one meeting is enough, sometimes a few sessions, sometimes a referral to a better-suited colleague. Booking this first appointment commits you to nothing further.

Who are the practitioners at Centre Novae?

+

The practitioners working at Centre Novae are psychologists and neuropsychologists, qualified and authorised to practise in Luxembourg. They work with children, adolescents and adults through a rigorous, compassionate and person-centred approach.

Are consultations reimbursed?

+

Psychology and neuropsychology consultations are not currently reimbursed by the CNS (Luxembourg national health fund). Some complementary insurance policies offer partial reimbursement: patients must contact their insurer directly.

How does payment work?

+

Payment for each session is due at the end of the consultation, by QR code, instant transfer or cash.

What is the cancellation policy?

+

Any appointment cancelled less than 24 hours in advance is charged in full. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend, so the slot can be offered to another patient.

Is parking available near the centre?

+

Parking near Centre Novae in Bertrange is easy and free. Several spaces are available in the immediate vicinity of the practice.

How long does a session last?

+

A consultation usually lasts 60 minutes. Neuropsychological assessments are spread over several longer sessions, arranged with the practitioner.

In which languages are consultations offered?

+

Depending on the practitioner, consultations can be held in French, English, Portuguese, Spanish or Italian. You can choose the language when booking online.
